On Treasure

Last night, I had a chance to do a solid devotion after weeks of running around. I've been feeling the need to show down and be still. How refreshing.
The Parable of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl.
44"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
The one word that struck me was treasure. Intrinsic value. Jesus called for two things, one was to give everything up, but in exchange for something else. I asked myself first, "Why on earth would you give everything up to buy a field which may or may not have anymore treasure when you already have treasure?" The treasure itself is so valuable that it exceeds everything else. It stops me to pause and think if that's how I view the kingdom of heaven right now. Hmmm...
